2025 CLINTON CITY
ELECTION INFORMATION
Clinton City will elect a mayor and two city council members during the 2025 municipal election. Each position will serve a term of four (4) years.
Individuals who have currently filed to run for office in the 2025 Clinton Municipal General Election Pending determination as to whether the requirement of a Primary Election has been met. (Their Declaration of Candidacy and required disclosures is linked under their name). The names are listed according to the Master Ballot Position List as required by Utah Code Section 20A-6-305.

A primary election will be held on August 12, 2025, if, more than twice the number of candidates file than are to be elected for each position pursuant to UCA 20A-1-201.5.
A general election will be held on November 4, 2025.
Ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters three weeks prior to the election.
Qualified individuals may submit declaration of candidacy forms and pay a $25 filing fee or a nomination petition in person with the City Recorder’s Office at 2267 N 1500 W Clinton, Utah between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday thru Friday. The Candidate Filing Period is from Monday, June 2, 2025, to Friday June 6, 2025 (UCA 10-3-301).
Qualifications to Run for Elected Office:
- *Be a registered voter,
- Have resided within Clinton City for the 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the November election date; and,
- **In accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored.
- If elected, maintain primary residence within the city during term of the office.
* Utah Code §20A-2-101 states: A registered voter
(1) is a citizen of the United States;
(2) is a resident of Utah;
(3) will, on the date of that election, be at least 18 years old,
(4) has been a resident of Utah for 30 days immediately before that election;
(5) and is registered to vote.
** Utah Code §20A-2-101.5 states: A person convicted of a felony loses the right to hold office until:
(1) all felony convictions have been expunged, OR
(2) ten years have passed since the most recent felony conviction AND the person has paid all court-ordered restitution and fines AND the person has completed probation, been granted parole, or completed the term of incarceration associated with the felony.

Residents who are not registered to vote may register in one of the following ways:

Voter Registration must be received by the County Clerk by 5 p.m., 11 days prior to an election.
- Register in person at the Utah County Clerk's Office
- Online Voter Registration is available at vote.utah.gov
- Day-of Registration can be done at a Voting Service Center on election day.
If you are a military (currently deployed) overseas citizen eligible to vote in state and local elections, you may register to vote and request a regular absentee ballot for upcoming elections.

Vote By Mail: Notice is hereby given that the Primary and General Elections will be vote by mail. There will be a drop box located at 1651 W 2300 N (in front of Recreation) where ballots can be deposited on or prior to election day. On election day, the recreation building will serve as a voting center from 7 am to 8 am.
If voters mail their ballots, the ballots must be received at the county clerk's office by 8 pm on ELECTION DAY or they will not be counted.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statement: All Clinton City municipal candidates are subject to disclosure requirements identified in UCA 10-3-301.5. A copy of the form can be downloaded here. The form must be filled out and brought with you when you declare candidacy.
Campaign Financial Statements: All Clinton City municipal candidates are subject to financial disclosure requirements identified in Utah Code 10-3-208 which will be made available for viewing on the State website.
New Terms
Newly elected officials will begin their terms of office after being sworn in at a special meeting on the 1st Monday in January 2026 following the election.
