Clinton City is making safety improvements at the intersection of 800 North & 1500 West by modifying the current two-way stop to a four-way stop.
What’s Changing?
Currently, only northbound and southbound traffic stops at this intersection. With this change, eastbound and westbound traffic will also stop, requiring traffic in all directions to stop before proceeding.
When Will This Happen?
Installation is scheduled to take place on May 28th. Clinton City will use message boards on the roadway to alert drivers in advance of the change.
Why the Change?
Based on a recent intersection traffic analysis including crash data, Clinton City Police and the Public Works believe these modifications are necessary to reduce crashes and improve safety for all road users.
What Should Drivers Do?
- Be prepared to stop in all directions at this intersection.
- Drive cautiously and pay attention to the newly installed stop signs.
