After extensive study, city leaders approved a franchise agreement with the private company Connext. The agreement gives Connext access to our rights of way, but requires no financial backing from the city. Connext plans to provide an open network, meaning they will own and manage the fiber infrastructure but will allow other internet service providers to operate on their network. They will also be an ISP on their own network.
Go to https://www.connextbroadband.com/clinton-fiber and fill out the form to give them an idea of the demand. Tell your neighbors.
Connext will plan their build-out based on your responses. Neighborhoods showing the most interest will be built first.
Thank you!
