Posted on: July 10, 2022[ARCHIVED] Shooting in Clinton After Heritage Days Celebration
As some of you have heard from social media or the news, there was a shooting that occurred in Clinton City late last night. Two groups of individuals were engaged in an altercation that escalated to gunfire erupting east of Parkside Elementary School. This took place after all the city celebrations had ended. Thankfully this didn’t happen at Civic Center Park. Two individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The police do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public at this time.
Our first responders have done an amazing job! They have been working around the clock. We are thankful to all who have rendered aid and service. We also appreciate the mutual aid that came from nearby areas.
We are extremely grateful that those citizens living nearby are all safe. Clinton City Police will post updates when appropriate and we will share them with you. Due to the age of the parties involved, the release of information will be limited.
