JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a Patrol Sergeant, prevents and represses crime through patrol activities, enforces city ordinances, state and federal laws and performs other related activities to basic police duties in the area of community services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws; proper use of force; police department policies and procedures and code of conduct; Ability to act independently and without supervision in professional performance of all duties and responsibilities of a law enforcement officer; Communicate well with others; accurately assess situations and apply the appropriate solution. React quickly, properly, and calmly under emergency conditions; Skill in writing detailed and concise reports; understanding and executing oral and/or written instructions; proficient with firearms, and specialized equipment in performance of duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED
Must be a US Citizen, at least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license
Must pass background check and drug Screen
Utah POST Certification
Preference given to those candidates who possess a Utah certification as a Law Enforcement Officer
