Welcome to Clinton City's athletic field and facility rental information. Below is a simplified guide to help you understand the rental process, fees, and policies for using our facilities.

Important Note: This page provides a simplified overview of the rental process. It does not include all policies and details. For complete rental policies and requirements, refer to the full Athletic Field and Facility Use Policy or contact the Recreation Department.

Rental Overview

Clinton City offers a variety of rental spaces, including:

  • Athletic fields for baseball, softball, soccer, and football
  • Sports courts such as pickleball
  • Open grass areas
  • A 9-hole disc golf course

Our facilities are maintained for community enjoyment and are available to rent for events, leagues, practices, and tournaments. Priority is given to Clinton City and Davis School District activities. 

Activities Requiring a Rental

Any organization, league, team, club, or individual that holds an organized event, practice, game, training, lesson, league, etc., consistently: daily, weekly, multiple times a week/month, etc., at any of the Clinton City fields, courts, open grass areas, or the disc golf course must be approved and scheduled in advance according to the rental policy.

A rental is required for any organized activity, including but not limited to:

  • Practices, games, and tournaments
  • Training sessions and clinics
  • Lessons and camps
  • League events
  • Special events such as fundraisers or corporate outings

Rental Process

To complete your rental process, follow these steps:

  1. Review the Rental Policy:
    1. Read the Athletic Field and Facility Use Policy.
  2. Application Submission:
    1. Submit the Rental Application Form via email or in person. Phone applications are not accepted.
    2. Include detailed event information such as schedules and requested facilities.
    3. Pay the non-refundable application fee ($50).
    4. Applications for the upcoming year are accepted starting in October after Clinton City events are scheduled.
  3. Reservation Approval:
    1. Once your application is approved, pay the non-refundable reservation fee ($250) within 10 business days.
    2. Review and sign the Use Agreement sent by the Recreation Department. Return it within 10 business days of receipt.
    3. Submit a Certificate of Insurance showing $1,000,000 commercial liability coverage at least five business days before your event.
  4. Finalize Your Booking
    1. Submit a security deposit ($500) at least five days before the rental.
    2. Ensure all required fees, deposits, and documents are submitted within the specified timelines to secure your reservation.
  5. Game Schedules (if applicable):
    1. Provide game schedules at least 10 days before the start of the first game.
  6. Complete the Reservation:
    1. Pay any outstanding usage fees at least five days after the rental date.

Rental Costs

General Fees:

  • Application Fee: $50
  • Reservation Fee: $250

Usage Fees:

  • Baseball/Softball Fields: $50 per field/day (+$17 per field, per prep)
  • Soccer/Football Fields: $200 per field/day (+ setup and paint fees)
  • Pickleball Courts: $350/day (maximum six courts)
  • Open Grass Area: $30 per hour per area
  • Disc Golf Course: $40/tournament or $15/week (league play)

Additional Costs:

  • Field/Court Lights: $20 per hour per field/court
  • Portable mounds, scoreboards, PA systems, and other equipment are available for additional fees.

Deposits:

  • Security Deposit: $500 (refundable upon inspection)
  • Scoreboard Controller Deposit: $1,000 (refundable)

Policies to Note

  • Rental Timeframes: Weather permitting, facilities are available for rent from April 15 to October 15. Rentals are not available on Sundays. The Recreation and Public Works directors may approve exceptions.
  • Insurance: Renters should carry a certificate of commercial general liability coverage, with Clinton City Corporation named as an additional insured. The coverage should have liability limits of not less than $1,000,000 for each occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate for the injury or death of a person or persons and property damage.
  • Cancellations: Notify the Recreation Department at least 10 days before for a refund. Weather-related cancellations may be refunded or rescheduled.
  • Field Conditions: Fields may close for maintenance, rest, or due to inclement weather.
  • Supervision & Additional Personnel: A site supervisor may be required for certain rentals, with additional fees. A ball field crew is required for field preparation for all softball field rentals, with additional fees. 
  • Park Rules & Regulations: All rentals must follow and comply with all park rules and regulations.
  • Mass Gathering Permit: Renters are responsible for following all Davis County Health Department rules and regulations and must obtain all permits required. This may include obtaining a Mass Gathering Permit if there will be 1,000 participants for two or more hours daily.
